07Why Collectors Want It

  • Skyridge (2003) was the last WotC-era (e-Card) set and is famously short-printed; its holos are scarce.
  • At ~$100 it's one of Magneton's top cards behind the Base Set 1st-Edition rare.
  • Skyridge holos are notoriously hard to grade clean, driving a strong PSA 10 premium.

08Competitive Playability

Tier: None

Stage 1 Magneton with 70 HP; top attack around 30 damage. Functions as an evolution-chain piece rather than a tournament attacker.

09Card Moves and Abilities

Bounce Off Cost: Colorless + Colorless · 20 damage

If Magneton and the Defending Pokémon don't have the same number of Energy cards attached to them, the player controlling the Active Pokémon with the fewest number of Energy cards attached to it switches 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon with his or her Active Pokémon.

Magnetic Wave Cost: Metal + Metal + Colorless · 30+ damage

This attack does 30 damage plus 10 damage times the number of your Benched Pokémon minus the number of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (For example, if your opponent has 1 Benched Pokémon and you have 3, this attack will do 30 damage plus 20 more damage.)

10Grading and Population

PSA 10 estimate: PSA 10 Gem Mint realizes ~$1,725 (PriceCharting realized, May 2026).

Low Gem-Mint population — Skyridge holos are short-printed and grade tough.

Other graders: PSA dominates the graded population.
