07Why Collectors Want It

  • Skyridge 'H' crosshatch holos are e-Card scarcities — this Magneton verified ~$122 raw, with PSA 10 copies ~$2,596.
  • Skyridge is the scarcest WotC set, so gem-mint copies are tough to find.
  • A high-end Magneton just below the Base Set #9 1st Edition.
  • Required for a Skyridge or Magnemite-line master set.

08Competitive Playability

Tier: None

Stage 1 Magneton with 80 HP; top attack around 40 damage. Functions as an evolution-chain piece rather than a tournament attacker.

09Card Moves and Abilities

Ability: Attract Energy

When you play Magneton from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon, you may move any number of basic Energy cards attached to your other Pokémon to Magneton.

Electric Blast Cost: Lightning + Colorless + Colorless · 40 damage

You may discard all Lightning Energy cards attached to Magneton when you use this attack. If you do, put damage counters equal to the amount of Energy cards removed in this way on any number of your opponent's Benched Pokémon in the way you like. (For example, if you discard 3 Lightning Energy cards, you can put 1 damage counter on 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and 2 on another.)

10Grading and Population

PSA 10 estimate: PSA 10 ~$2,596 (PriceCharting realized, May 2026).

Skyridge crosshatch holos chip and scratch easily; PSA 10 population is low and premiums over raw are steep.

Other graders: CGC and BGS also grade Skyridge; PSA leads on liquidity.
