Vanillite (and the Vanillite line generally) became the poster-child for 'they're running out of ideas' arguments at the BW launch in 2010, and Game Freak's response — 'Vanillite is based on an ice stalagmite, not actually a soft-serve cone' — convinced approximately no one. The line is genuinely beloved by anyone who actually plays with one.
