Simisear #514

Simisear — the Ember Pokémon, the fully-evolved fire monkey, all flame-eyebrows and angry-dad energy. Evolved from Pansear via a Fire Stone, and the only member of the elemental-monkey trio to get genuine modern TCG support — a Simisear V/VSTAR pair in 2022's Brilliant Stars and 2023's Crown Zenith gave the line real competitive flicker, and the Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery alt-art VSTAR is one of the prettiest sleepers in the whole subset.

01Top 10 Notable Simisear Cards

Simisear surprisingly has the deepest list of the entire elemental-monkey trio. The 2023 Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery alt-art VSTAR leads at the top (a genuine sleeper chase at $36), the 2025 White Flare Illustration Rare sits behind it, and Brilliant Stars / Crown Zenith V and VSTAR prints give the line mid-list collector depth. The only monkey-trio Pokémon with anything resembling real card support.

The 2025 throwback chase. White Flare's Illustration Rare gives the line a second modern showcase right behind the Galarian Gallery alt — painterly, full-art, and the cover-pull for Simisear in the throwback set. About half the price of the GG chase, still a wide gap above the rest of the catalog.

The standard Holo VSTAR companion to the Galarian Gallery alt — same set, same VSTAR card, simpler chrome-finish version. Same in-game card mechanically, much cheaper, no painterly art treatment.

Holo V Simisear from Crown Zenith — the prerequisite-stage V card to the VSTAR companion in the same set. Standard Holo finish, modest collector demand.

Brilliant Stars was the February-2022 SWSH set that introduced the VSTAR mechanic — and Simisear V is one of the early entries that came with the format. A clean Holo V print, no full-art version in this set, modest mid-tier value.

Next Destinies was the February-2012 set that brought Pokémon-EX back to the game. Simisear's reprint here is launch-era bulk extension — the kind of mid-tier Common that filled the set's basic-line roster.

An XY-era 2014 Common reprint — Simisear appearing in the Kalos-launch set. Off-generation pack bulk, clean illustration, no thematic home in the set.

Emerging Powers was the late-2011 first-proper-expansion follow-up to Black & White. Simisear's reprint here is a Common from the launch-era — clean, undervalued, technically the first English Simisear evolved-stage print after the BW launch.

Plasma Storm was the early-2013 Team-Plasma-themed set. Simisear's Common reprint here is set-roster filler — pure pack bulk, no in-game pedigree.

Noble Victories was the November-2011 third Black & White-era expansion. Simisear is bulk filler here — the cheapest verified Simisear in the catalog and a tidy completionist pickup.
