Simisage #512

Simisage — the Thorn Monkey Pokémon, the angry adult evolution of Pansage, evolved via a Leaf Stone. Tall, prickly, dreadlocked, with a permanently-furious expression that makes him look perpetually one bad day away from snapping. Famously underused: Simisage almost never gets competitive support and almost never gets chase cards either — the line's value is concentrated almost entirely in the modern 2025 Black Bolt Illustration Rare and a long bulk-bin tail.

01Top 10 Notable Simisage Cards

Simisage is a single-chase list — the 2025 Black Bolt Illustration Rare leads by a wide margin, with everything behind it firmly in the bulk tier. A reprint history spread across BW, XY, SM, SWSH, and SV-era sets means there are a lot of Simisages in circulation; almost none of them have ever broken the $1 floor outside the modern throwback chase.

Emerging Powers was the late-2011 first-proper-expansion follow-up to Black & White — and Simisage got slot #2 in the set's Common roster. A launch-era reprint, the strongest of the bulk-tier Simisages, with no in-game pedigree but a clean Rare card.

Next Destinies was the February-2012 set that brought Pokémon-EX back to the game. Simisage's reprint here is launch-era pack filler — a quiet Common slot that exists mostly for set-roster completeness.

An XY-era 2014 Common reprint — Simisage appearing in a Kalos-focused set, the kind of off-generation Common that XY frequently slipped in. Clean card, bulk price.

The original. 2011 Black & White Common — the very first English Simisage, the launch-set print that capped Pansage's evolution line for a new generation. Bulk for a decade with slow nostalgia lift.
