Sandshrew is a card almost nobody chases on purpose — a desert-mouse common that's been quietly reprinted in nearly every era since 1999. Its value lives entirely in scarcity and nostalgia: the brutally short-printed e-Card runs, the cracked-ice Legendary Collection reverse, and the Gym-era Brock's variants that turn a $1 common into a small collector's prize.
Don't expect a chase rare here — Sandshrew never got a Gold Star or a holo grail. What it got instead is a run of vintage commons made scarce by tiny print runs and rough condition, and that's exactly the kind of sleeper patient collectors love. Priciest first:
Skyridge (2003) was the final e-Card set and the last gasp of the WotC era — short-printed, hard to find sealed, and famous for centering so bad that clean copies barely exist. Even a plain Sandshrew common rides that set-wide scarcity to the top of the list; survivors in good shape are genuinely tough to source.

Legendary Collection (2002) reprinted the classics with the hobby's first full-card reverse-holo — a shimmering 'cracked ice' foil that collectors prize far above the non-holo version. That reverse treatment is why an otherwise ordinary Sandshrew sits neck-and-neck with the Skyridge print.
