Excadrill #530

Excadrill — the Subterrene Pokémon, the line's flagship and one of Gen 5's most defining competitive Pokémon. Steel/Ground typing, drill-arms, a screw-tipped head, and the Sand Rush ability — paired with Tyranitar-or-Hippowdon Sand Stream support, Excadrill became one of the single most-feared OU sweepers of the BW competitive era. Cards have followed the in-game prestige: a BW-era Excadrill-EX, modern Excadrill ex prints in 2025 Black Bolt and 2024 Temporal Forces, and a Cosmic Eclipse secret rare round out a deep flagship list.

01Top 10 Notable Excadrill Cards

Excadrill's Top 10 is one of the deepest early-Unova lists — a 2025 Black Bolt Excadrill ex special-art (SAR) leads at the top, a Temporal Forces secret-numbered chase sits in second, a 2019 Cosmic Eclipse secret rare in third, a vintage BW-era Excadrill-EX from Legendary Treasures fourth, and a real $2 mid-list Primal Clash Holo. Genuine collector depth for the line's competitive flagship.

Temporal Forces was the March-2024 SV-era Paradox-themed set, and Excadrill landed a secret-numbered chase past the printed set total — another modern Special Illustration Rare for the line. A strong $9 second-tier behind the Black Bolt SAR.

Cosmic Eclipse was the December-2019 SM-era finale and one of the biggest sets in TCG history. Excadrill's secret-numbered rare here (past the printed set total) was the line's flagship modern chase before Temporal Forces and Black Bolt arrived — still a clean mid-tier pickup.

The vintage chase. Excadrill-EX from 2013's Legendary Treasures — the BW-era greatest-hits closer that reshuffled the generation's best cards into a single big release. A clean BW-era full-art EX, the line's classic-era flagship and the strongest vintage Excadrill chase.

Primal Clash was the February-2015 XY-era set built around Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. Excadrill earned a Holo Rare slot — clean illustration, a solid mid-tier card from the line's XY-era support.

Emerging Powers was the late-2011 first-real-expansion follow-up to Black & White. Excadrill's first English Rare Holo — the original launch-era chase, one of two Excadrills in the same set.

The standard Holo ex print companion to the Black Bolt SAR — same Excadrill ex card mechanically, plainer Holo finish. Sits well under the special-art chase but lets a budget collector own the modern ex form.

The plain Rare Holo Excadrill from the same 2019 Cosmic Eclipse set that produced the secret-rare chase up top. The 'standard' tier of the line — bulk pricing, the cheapest verified Excadrill in the catalog.
