Dewott #502

Dewott — the middle stage of the Unova water starter line, Futachimaru in Japanese, the swordsman-in-training. Two scalchops now (one on each leg), a sharper martial-arts pose, and the awkward teen years between starter cuteness and Samurott's full samurai-otter armor. The card pool is thin — every Dewott in the catalog is a reprint of one of about three illustrations — but the line gets the same throwback love as the rest of Unova.

01Top 10 Notable Dewott Cards

Dewott is a thin line by design — middle-stage Pokémon do not usually pull chase treatment, and most of the value here is concentrated in the modern 2025 White Flare Illustration Rare. Behind it sit a Happy Meal promo, a string of original Black & White-era prints, and a handful of forgotten reprints hovering around the $0.15 bulk floor. A collector's-completion list more than an investment one.

A 2012 Happy Meal promo from the McDonald's Pokémon distribution run that ran a year after Black & White launched. Holo-foil, often dinged from kid-handling, and the pricetag mostly reflects scarcity of clean copies rather than any in-game pedigree.

Legendary Treasures was 2013's greatest-hits closer for Black & White — and Dewott's reprint here is exactly the middle-stage Uncommon you'd expect to fall out of a fat pack. A sleeper for set-completionists, bulk for everyone else.

Boundaries Crossed was the late-2012 Plasma-themed set, and tucked inside was this reprint Dewott. It is a clean Uncommon and a fine second-stage placeholder, but it never had a competitive home and the price reflects it.

One of the 2011 launch-set Dewotts — the moment the entire Black & White roster first arrived in English. The middle-stage starter Uncommon that nobody got excited about at the time and almost nobody is excited about now, but it is part of the historical record of Unova's debut.

Sister card to #29 — second Uncommon Dewott in the 2011 launch set. Subtle illustration variation, same price ballpark; the kind of pair you only notice when you are trying to track every print of one Pokémon.

An XY-era oddity — Dewott reprinted in 2016's Steam Siege, two full generations and a few power-creep cycles after his TCG debut. Unusual to see a Unova middle-stage in an XY set; the price says nobody noticed.

Astral Radiance was the 2022 set built around Pokémon Legends: Arceus and the Hisuian forms — and Dewott got pulled along as the pre-evo to Hisuian Samurott. A perfectly fine modern reprint living quietly in the bulk bin.

The Common-rarity Dewott from the same 2025 White Flare throwback set that produced the IR chase. Same set, opposite end of the rarity tree — pack bulk where the Illustration Rare is the chase, and a fun side-by-side comparison piece.

Vivid Voltage was the 2020 set best remembered for the Rainbow Pikachu V-MAX chase, and Dewott was one of the many basic-line reprints filling out the Uncommon slots. The cheapest verified Dewott in the catalog — true penny-bin cardboard.
