Caterpie is the first thing a generation of kids ever caught in the grass — and on cardboard it's just as humble. There's no chase rare here; the whole story is a couple of reverse-holo parallels that quietly outgrew their common rarity while everyone ignored them. Priciest first.
Legendary Collection (2002) gave every card a shimmering 'reverse' holo parallel, and almost nobody bothered saving the commons in grade. Two decades later this ordinary Caterpie is worth real money precisely because so few clean copies survived — the whole line's value rests on it.
