07Why Collectors Want It

  • An e-Card-era holo from Skyridge (2003), numbered H17/144.
  • Verified at ~$187 raw, PSA 10 ~$1,400 (PriceCharting, May 2026) — roughly a 7x gem-mint multiple.
  • Skyridge holos are notoriously hard to find well-centered, so high grades are scarce.
  • A recognized e-Card-era sleeper among Magcargo and Johto-era collectors.

08Competitive Playability

Tier: None

Stage 1 Magcargo with 80 HP; top attack around 40 damage. Functions as an evolution-chain piece rather than a tournament attacker.

09Card Moves and Abilities

Ability: Streaming Mantle

When you play Magcargo from your hand to evolve your Active Pokémon, you may discard the top 3 cards of your deck and and then shuffle 3 basic Energy cards from your discard pile into your deck. If you do, your opponent does the same.

Crushing Lava Cost: Fighting + Colorless + Colorless · 40+ damage

You may discard a Fire or Fighting basic Energy card attached to Magcargo. If you discard a Fire Energy card in this way, the Defending Pokémon is now Burned. If you discard a Fighting Energy card in this way, this attack does 40 damage plus 20 more damage.

10Grading and Population

PSA 10 estimate: PSA 10 ~$1,400 against ~$187 raw — roughly 7x for a flawless copy (PriceCharting realized, May 2026).

Skyridge holo foil shows hairlines and the print runs off-center, so gem-mint copies are genuinely scarce.

Other graders: PSA leads resale on e-Card holos; BGS and CGC copies trade beneath an equivalent PSA 10.
