07Why Collectors Want It

  • Legendary Collection (2002) introduced the first reverse-holo parallels; the reverse-holo Gengar #11 is one of the scarcest and most valuable LC reverses.
  • The base holo trades around $100, but the reverse-holo parallel commands ~$736 raw, with PSA 10 copies realizing roughly $7,461 (PriceCharting, May 2026).
  • LC reverse-holos are extremely condition-sensitive, so high-grade copies of a popular Pokemon like Gengar are in constant demand.
  • As the Stage 2 of the Gastly line, it is a marquee target for both LC reverse specialists and Gengar collectors.

08Competitive Playability

Tier: None

Stage 2 Gengar with 80 HP; top attack around 30 damage. Functions as an evolution-chain piece rather than a tournament attacker.

09Card Moves and Abilities

Ability: Curse

Once during your turn (before your attack), you may move 1 damage counter from 1 of your opponent's Pokémon to another (even if it would Knock Out the other Pokémon). This power can't be used if Gengar is affected by a Special Condition.

Dark Mind Cost: Psychic + Psychic + Psychic · 30 damage

If your opponent has any Benched Pokémon, choose 1 of them and this attack does 10 damage to it. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

10Grading and Population

PSA 10 estimate: ~$7,461 (PriceCharting realized, May 2026; reverse-holo)

The LC mirror foil whitens and scratches easily; combined with Gengar's popularity, PSA 10 reverse-holos trade at roughly 10x raw.

Other graders: BGS and CGC also grade vintage Pokemon; PSA dominates secondary-market liquidity.
