Bellsprout #069

Bellsprout is Kanto's carnivorous weed — a wobbly, root-footed common that nobody chased in 1999 and few chase now. But its e-Card-era reverse holos and the Erika gym prints give the line a quietly collectible spine, the kind of cards you only notice once you're trying to finish a vintage Grass binder.

01Top 10 Notable Bellsprout Cards

Bellsprout's value lives almost entirely in the early-2000s prints — the Aquapolis and Legend Maker reverses that printed crooked and survive clean only rarely. Everything below them is pure nostalgia priced in pocket change, ranked here by verified sold price.

Bellsprout — Aquapolis #45

A second Aquapolis Bellsprout, this one the standard-set common rather than the H-prefix holo. Same e-Card centering lottery, same thin print run that never got reprinted — collectors completing the 2003 Aquapolis base set keep steady pressure on the few graded survivors.

Bellsprout — Legend Maker #49

EX Legend Maker (2006) was a small, holo-heavy set, and its reverse-holo commons are sleepers precisely because so few were pulled and kept. A Bellsprout here is a throwaway to most, but the reverse-foil parallel in mint shape is scarcer than its fifty-cent reputation suggests.

Bellsprout — Jungle #49
Rank 04

Bellsprout — Jungle #49

This is the Bellsprout most '90s kids actually owned — Jungle, the 1999 follow-up to Base Set that flooded the schoolyard. It's worth a few dollars on pure first-generation nostalgia, the unlimited-print common that anchors the line's history without ever being rare.

Erika's Bellsprout — Gym Challenge #38
Rank 05

Erika's Bellsprout — Gym Challenge #38

The Gym series (2000) gave Kanto's gym leaders their own rosters, so this Bellsprout 'belongs' to Erika of Celadon City. Gym-era Trainer-owned cards have a devoted niche, and Erika's grass-themed lineup is one of the prettier sub-collections of the WotC years.

Erika's Bellsprout — Gym Heroes #75
Rank 06

Erika's Bellsprout — Gym Heroes #75

Gym Heroes (2000) launched the Erika subset, and this is her Bellsprout's first appearance. The 'owned by a gym leader' framing was a fun WotC experiment that never returned, which keeps these cards mildly collectible decades later.

Bellsprout — FireRed & LeafGreen #53
Rank 07

Bellsprout — FireRed & LeafGreen #53

Tied to the 2004 Game Boy Advance remakes, the FireRed & LeafGreen set leaned hard on Kanto nostalgia. This Bellsprout is a clean modern-era reprint of an old favorite — affordable, sharp-looking, and a fine binder filler for the line.

Erika's Bellsprout — Gym Heroes #76
Rank 08

Erika's Bellsprout — Gym Heroes #76

Gym Heroes printed two Erika's Bellsprout variants back-to-back (#75 and #76), a common WotC trick to pad the common slots. This second artwork is the cheaper twin, valued mostly by completists chasing both versions of the same card.

Bellsprout — Legends Awakened #85
Rank 09

Bellsprout — Legends Awakened #85

Legends Awakened (2008) was one of the largest sets of its era, and its commons are about as plentiful as cardboard gets. This Bellsprout is a sub-dollar filler — included here for completeness, a reminder of how far the line's tail stretches.

Bellsprout — Base Set 2 #66
Rank 10

Bellsprout — Base Set 2 #66

Base Set 2 (2000) was a greatest-hits reshuffle of Base and Jungle, so this Bellsprout is essentially the Jungle common with a new set symbol. Pure pocket change, but a tidy bookend to a line whose whole value sits in three early-2000s prints above it.
